The US presidential election is approaching and the whole world is watching the political struggle. Stay on topic and discuss the current American political situation with American political scientist Danilo Petranovich.

This online seminar offers an introduction to major questions, problems and possibilities of American political life. The master text is Alexis de Tocqueville's DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA, but our discussions (and my introductions) go beyond it as we make connections between Tocqueville's enduring insights and the living issues of American politics.

The course was created in collaboration with The Abigail Adams Institute, which is dedicated to undergraduate students on the Harvard campus.
